Our Part in the Worldwide Vegan Bake Sale

1 May

The Bakers: Janice, Laura, Jamessina of PTV & Caryn

THANK YOU to everyone who visited our bake sale today at Extreme Smoothies in Wantagh NY! Together we raised $350 for the Town of Hempstead Animal Shelter!

Kid-approved vegan chocolate chip cookies and chocolate truffles flew off the plates, with the twinkies and black and white cookies needing to be replenished often. We had a tower of cupcakes and asparagus muffins next to incredible blueberry cobbler and bite-sized chocolate cakes with ganache on top. Three choices of cookies, truffles, and sampling of vegan wraps compliments of Extreme Smoothies owner, Joann.

Our first customer, Medic of Kings Ave Tattoo

We met some lovely vegans and vegetarians today, as well as got the chance to answer questions from many who hadn’t heard of vegan anything before. It was a wonderful way to raise awareness about the benefits and alternatives to the traditional while raising much needed funds for a worthy cause.

A very special thank you to Joann of Extreme Smoothies for being a fabulous hostess as well as for being open to incorporating vegan and vegetarian options on her daily menus. Definitely try her curry tempeh wraps and smoothies made with pea protein- no soy, dairy or GMOs!

Thank you to our awesome bakers, Janice, Laura and Caryn who brought absolutely delicious desserts and Debbie for her raw energy bars. And certainly, a thank you to Worldwide Vegan Bake Sale founder Gary, for caring enough to put this event together and raising awareness internationally! Count us in for next year, we can’t wait!

Please let us know if you enjoyed your purchases! xoxo and thanks for your support!
